WiFi Signal Strength Searching Tool!

If you read the post about changing the transmit & receiving channel of your WiFi Access point / Router, you might find it’s quite the hassle to find the best WiFi Channel yourself … and it is. So what if there was a tool that would really help you to find the best channel? A tool runs on every OS, and gives you similar control as WiFi Expert / hacker / war-drivers tools on Linux?

It’s called MetaGeek inSSIDer and it’s a life and time saver! What I like in particular about this tool, that it’s very easy to use, and has a graphical view where you can see the other WiFi networks, but maybe best of all? It’s FREE to use.

But it only works in … Windows. And I’m a Mac user! So in what way can a Mac OS X user benefit from these tools? Well although less user friendly and far more techy? I recommend the FREE & OpenSource KisMAC, either the commercial AirRadar (ShareWare $19.95).
