My Top 25 Mac OS X Apps – June 2013

Am I an Apple Fanboy? Yes … always have been. Reason I was running Windows for the past year is because of ‘peer pressure’ of my IT customers. With an increasingly focus on my own productivity, it’s plain madness to keep on running Windows, which is why I’ve switched to Mac OS X 10.9 Developer Preview Release 1.

With the following additional Apps to increase productivity.

Apple Activity Monitor | useful to kills Apps (yes, that’s necessary sometimes)
Apple Disk Utility | for formatting USB thumbdrives and burning DVDs
Apple Dashboard | price-less tool! checkout what widgets I use
Apple FontBook | managing fontstyles
Apple iTunes | although it’s features are vast, only using it to listen to Shoutcast radio stations
Audacity | default audio recording software
DropBox | to access cloud storage service
Filezilla | FTP client
GeekBench | Benchmark software. note: free version limited to 32-bit benchmarks
GIMP | Image editor
Google Chrome + extensions | my primary browser
Google Drive | cloud-based storage solution from Google
iStat Menus 2.0 | monitor your system from the menubar
Piriform Ccleaner | part of my Mac tune-up toolbox
MacTracker | database of all macs every produced (nerdy stuff)
Mozilla FireFox | my tertiary browser (mostly used for downloading YouTube vids)
